Our History

For over 125 years Benton State Bank has been committed to the people of Southwest Wisconsin and the Tri-State Area.

The Benton State Bank obtained a State Charter on October 19, 1894 and opened for business on December 3, 1894. Shullsburg Community Bank, A Branch of Benton State Bank was opened June 12, 1997 at 195 Hwy 11, Shullsburg WI. BSB Community Bancorporation, Inc. is the parent company of Benton State Bank, formed in 2000. This holding company was established to provide additional benefits to the shareholders and community. The Board believes that the formation of the holding company offers opportunities to the Bank to compete more effectively and to expand its services in type, number, and geographical scope. Tennyson Potosi Community Bank, A Branch of Benton State Bank opened for business at 338 Hwy 61 S., Potosi WI on January 10, 2005.

Mission

It is the mission of the Board of Directors of BSB Community Bancorporation, Inc., to sustain and gainfully expand the volume and quality of financial services offered in Southwest Wisconsin, and to be viewed as a leader in offering these services. Directors and employees shall focus on personal customer and community service for the betterment of the communities served. Such focus requires integrity, team attitude and careful accumulation and utilization of quality assets within applicable local, state and federal regulations. This focus will ultimately result in high, stable earnings for BSB Community Bancorporation, Inc., and will increase the value of the corporation to the community, which will ultimately enhance the quality of life for its stockholders, customers, employees and community.
